A number of members of staff from both the Senior and Junior Schools are taking on the Manchester Marathon on 5th April and they would be delighted if you could help.

Head of Life Studies and Acting Charity Coordinator Mr Alex Ehegartner has set himself 40 challenges before he is 40 and will be running his first ever (and last, according to the man himself!) marathon. He is raising money for one of SGS’ nominated charities - The Christie. If you would like to donate, please visit https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/alex-ehegartner1.

Chemistry teacher Mr Richard Heyes will be running his fifth marathon in preparation for his Iron Man later this year. As a fundraising event, pupils will be asked to make a small donation to try and guess his time. The closest person will win a voucher of their choice. All donations will go to The Christie and can be made two weeks before the race in the quad at lunchtime.

New English teacher Mrs Helen Roberts is running her first ever marathon and is raising money for her chosen charity Prevent Breast Cancer. Donations can be made at https://www.justgiving.com/RobertsHelen.

Junior School Headmaster Mr Tim Wheeler has a busy few months ahead. He is running the Manchester Marathon as himself before donning the famous Scissorman costume as he completes the Bath Half Marathon, the Tommy’s Manchester Half and the London Marathon.
