On: Saturday, 01 Feb 2020
Venue: at Home

On the 1st of February Stockport Grammar came up against Bury Grammar in a close match. After a day of rain, the conditions were awful making the game more difficult to play. Stockport kicked of and the match was underway. It was a close match for the first 20 minutes until a good ball from Bury left their striker 1 on 1 with our goalkeeper. There number 10 put the ball in the back of the net disappointing the Stockport players after their hard work and a few good chances. For the next 20 minutes it was an even game with both sides having good chances but not being able to put the ball in the back of the net. At half time Bury were leading with just one goal separating the 2 sides. Stockport dominated for the first 10 minutes of the half with Bradley, James KC, James Patel and David having a few good chances. After 10 minutes of high press by Stockport Bury conceded a foul on the edge of their box. James KC crossed the ball into the penalty spot and with a lot of heading the ball hit the back of the net. After this the ball stayed in midfield for most of the time. With about 5 minutes left of the game our defence left too much time on the ball for Bury and they took advantage of it by scoring. IN the final moments of the game a mistimed and misjudged clearance gave the ball to the Bury midfield who put a ball of the top of our defence once again leaving our goalkeeper 1 on 1 with their striker who converted the shot. This was pretty much the last kick of the game and when the referee blew his whistle for the last time the score was 3-1 to Bury.
